History of Lord’s Jester Inc.
Lord’s Jester was founded in 2009 by Adam Gottschalk while living in New York City.
The book entitled Perfume by Patrick Suskind began Adam’s intrigue of the natural perfume industry from which he learned that perfume had been all natural until the release of Chanel No. 5 in 1921, the first successful synthetic perfume. Adam was inspired by Essence & Alchemy by Mandy Aftel which describes the details involved with becoming a professional natural perfumer. After completing Aftel’s workbook in addition to extensive research along with trial and error of his own, Adam found himself constructing his own stand-out visions of all-natural perfumes.
Adam realized that designing natural perfume compositions was part of his destiny. One year after graduating from Mandy Aftel’s course (with flying colors), Adam was quickly accepted into the ranks of other professional natural perfumers and earned the prestigious honor of being an accepted certified Professional Perfumer member of the Natural Perfumers Guild®. Adam relocated his home base to Florida in 2011 where he continues to create and inspire others with his sensual perfume collections.

The name Lord’s Jester is taken from the meaning of Adam’s last name, Gottschalk, which means “God’s Jester” in German. Donations for the National MS Society
Adam was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in early 2000. Any donations to the MS Society help to raise awareness and to fund research and development with the hope of finding a cure. Click here to donate.
Adam’s MS fund
MS is a degenerative disease for which there is no cure. Since receiving the diagnosis, Adam has been greatly affected by this debilitating disease. Although the diagnosis of MS may be more common in women, the effects of MS in men tend to develop much faster and end up much worse. For Adam, there is no chance of ever getting back to perfect health. Adam uses a wheelchair most of the time, and that’s just one of hundreds of symptoms he has to suffer through on a daily basis.
