Anthea Extrait De Parfum

The Legend:Anthea is a Greek word meaning “blossom” and was used as an epithet for Hera (Queen of the Gods), and was also a rather common name for girls. Many nymphs (semi-divine beings who personified and protected trees, flowers, hills and fountains) also had this name. One of the daughters of Thespius (and 49 mothers of the 51 Heraclidae) was also named Anthea. It is a compliment in the utmost that one be named this; as one of the highest praises one could have sung of their beauty was their likeness to a flower.

The Fragrance: This is Anthea’s heaviest and darkest aspect. An opening of leaves, blossoms and spicy pepper enchants like a nymph dancing through the forest. As night falls, a powerful and very intense jasmine bares herself to frolic unashamed in the light of the moon. She is joined by her sisters: sweet creamy magnolia and a fruity blushing rose; and as they entwine and merge something glorious is created. Clary sage, with its sharp aromatic green, keeps this from being too feminine and surrounds them in an herbal mist. Steely iris root (orris) and resinous benzoin crystals balance warm and cool energies.  As they cavort and laugh and run deeper into the pines, a subtle yet alluring muskiness is present that makes you want to follow them and join  their gathering. This is a scent for a floral lover who is neither shy nor naive, someone unafraid of true naked beauty.
