The Legend: The west wind personified, the bringer of warmth and often called the fructifying wind. Zephyr (and his three brothers) were children of Eos (the dawn) and Astraeus (the morning star). He was wed to the goddess Chloris (goddess and patron of flowers), but had numerous lovers, both male and female. He was the gentle soul, and the bringer of soft life-giving rains and the filled the sails of ships, and brought smooth travels. The most kind and benevolent of all the four winds, Zephyrus would chase away the chill of winter, dry out the land and bring calm and happy carefree days. He was crowned with flowers, and had the face of a beautiful youth. Effeminate and beautiful, yet firm and strong, he typified the Greek ideal of sensitivity and masculinity existing together.
The Fragrance: This blows out of the sprayer just like a caressing breeze, with greens layered over warm spices, clean wood and citric blossoms. The heart of this is like a true deep breath of summer. As two kinds of sexy rose play tag with creamy jasmine, ylang ylang and tropical hibiscus lounge languidly in the background, and marigolds add a dry spiciness. Here is where masculine strength and feminine softness merge to become something more gorgeous than either one could ever be on its own. The finish of this is true magic. With no “leather”, birch tar or “skin musk” in the mix; Zephyr dries to a soft warm leather-like scent as cool orris and violets, blend with sandalwood and other precious woods, musky flower seeds and the soft smoothness of tobacco and amber. A scent for those who defy gender, are carefree and have a warm and sunny disposition.
